The Suzuka Washout

       Last night I pondered if I should stay up for a couple more hours to watch the Japanese Grand Prix qualifying or go to sleep and watch the qualifying later.  I chose to go to sleep and it seems it was a good choice.  Heavy rain forced its postponement in the early hours of this Saturday Morning, the Japanese Grand Prix qualifying will take place on Sunday.  Qualifying will start at 0200 BST with the race start time unchanged at 0700 BST.  The other big news is that Lewis Hamilton has been penalised five places on the grid for Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix for changing his gearbox.

Sunday Sport Round-Up

       Plenty of sport kept me excited this busy weekend with important games going on in many sports.  Only one of the top five of the Premiership going into this weekend won, three of them lost.  Light shone down on Fernando as he was imperious at the Marina Bay.  The World Open sees four previous Cucible winners in the semi finals.  The only unbeaten team in Aviva and Barclays Premiership's lose but both leagues one team is still win.  But again the weekend has a tragedy as former Great Britain rugby league player Terry Newton has been found dead.

The Night Time Race

      After a fascinating Grand Prix at Monza with the top 5 of the drivers championship finishing in the reverse of that order, Aloson 1st, Button 2nd, Vetterl 4th, Webber 6th and Hamilton DNF.  The top 5 are now separated by 24 points which means that anyone of them could be top after this weekends race.  This weekend the formula one convoy has made its way to Singapore for the third time and the dynamic of this day/night race is very different to all others.  Lets see how the Red Bull's, McLaren's and Ferrari's do in the often variable weather conditions. Lewis Hamilton got on pole and won last year he'll be hoping for a repeat of that.

The Sunday Sport Round-up

       Wow!  Where do I start?  This weekend was jam packed full of sporting events full of potential excitement and boy did they deliver, the Ferguson's had a weekend they would like to forget, Monza had a fascinating qualifying and race, the Pakistan team have shown some genuine performances, the US Open has blown me and some of the players away, Sky showed the way in Stoke, the second week of Aviva Premiership was close everywhere, another English side lost on penalties and the always confusing Super League Play-offs began.  If you have no idea about what just said then

Formula 1 Goes to Monza

       The F1 convoy has rolled onto the home of Ferrari, Monza and with Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa languishing 5th and 6th respectively in the drivers' world championship these is a important weekend for them.  Ferrari need a victory this weekend to return some recently lost pride and for Alonso to keep him in the championship, I assume they won't be letting Alonso pass Massa this time, so due to the fact they are out of the constructors championship they would almost be wanting Massa to be slower than Alonso.  But Ferrari and Alonso aren't the only ones who really need a win this weekend.
