I Could Manage Real

Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce believes he is good enough to manage any of Europe's top clubs.  Allardyce, once a candidate for the England manager's job, arrived at Ewood Park in 2008 having survived at Newcastle for less than half a season. This statement may have been taken out of context but I think it is an interesting idea.

Most top clubs are full of talented players with large wages and even larger egos, the main thing a manager of a top European club needs to do is get them to gel on the pitch.  A manager like 'Big Sam' would probably bruise alot of egos, he wouldn't let the stars have it all their own way but could he really manage Real Madrid.  Lets have look.

Real Madrid get through almost one manager a season.  It doesn't seem to matter if they win La Liga or the Champions League, or if they they finish second behind Barcelona again the manager will in all likeliness be somewhere else by the start of the next year.  Real Madrid is run by the presidents and with them changing every four years their never will be a stable climate for a manager in the near future.

So bearing that in mind you have to think what can a manager do in one season, if you look Jose Mourinho's career you will see that his first season at the club is never as good as the second season.  So can Mourinho do enough in one season to get a second?  Well since his ego is the same size if not bigger than most of the players at Real I think Jose will fit in perfectly.  His type of managing is one of the two methods that in my opinion will work in Madrid.

Jose will show and tell his players that he is bigger than all of them he is the Special One and the egos in the squad will all shrink under the size of his and the players will gel better because of it.   The other method is to take away all their creature comforts get them back to the basics train them hard and make no friends.  You may very well upset a few of the top players but Real have the depth to cope with the loss of one or two players.

Sam Allardyce would fit in this role perfectly and the reason it works is that as a manager you are only their for one season, you not looking to settle in, your looking to get the most out of the players you have.  Big Sam may not have the ego of Jose but he does have a persona of his own, his no nonsense approach will give him the edge he needs to control the squad.

The idea that Sam Allardyce would even get the daft but I think he could do a very good job.
